Welcome to Ring's Island Marina, Salisbury, MA

Located on scenic Ring's Island in Salisbury, Massachusetts, Ring's Island Marina (formerly Dawn Marina) is ideally situated to provide the absolute best boating experience on the Merrimack River. Its close proximity to the mouth of the River provides boaters with minimum travel time to the Atlantic Ocean. Our location on the quieter Salisbury side of the river lends itself to fabulous views of historic downtown Newburyport and breathtaking sunsets. The Marina has the capacity to dock 4,000 linear feet of boats.

View of Newburyport from the MarinaScott Corbin, Dockmaster, has a long history with the Marina. He grew up on Ring's Island and built the original Dawn Marina with his father. During his boating / marina career, he has served as Dockmaster for marinas in Florida. We are very pleased to have such a knowledgeable person involved with Ring's Island Marina. Few people know marinas and the Merrimack River as well as Scott.

Ring's Island Marina has gone through an extensive transformation over the past two years. The docks have been completely rebuilt using a Brazilian rockwood decking known as Ipé (ee-pay). This weather-resistant decking is so hard that every nail hole must be drilled or the nail will simply bend. The docks are all wood and many new anchors have been installed to hold the docking in place. New stainless steel power pedestals have been installed with 30- and 50-amp breakers, water spigots and hose hooks. Dockmaster Scott Corbin has done a tremendous job at rebuilding the dock systems.

In conjunction with the new docks, a new club room has been built on the first floor of the Marina building. This room is intended to be a haven from the river on rough days and will be heated for those cold mornings as well. New showers and restrooms have been built with beautiful granite counters and imported Italian tile throughout. The shower walls are Swanstone panels. The Dockmaster’s workshop has been relocated to the rear of the Marina building to make way for the new clubroom.

An equally important aspect of the facilities upgrade is the installation of new water lines. We have installed two new 1-inch water lines into the marina to assure plenty of water pressure anywhere on the property. Also, we have upgraded the electrical service. We have our own transformer on-site to provide the maximum level of power allowed. Our goal was to have no fluctuations in power level on the docks and the new electrical system has provided this. The Marina building is being renovated with new cedar shingle siding, windows and doors, and the Marina office will be located on the second floor. All Marina business will be conducted in these offices. Office Manager Melina “Mel” Melvin will be your point of contact regarding all financial business at the Marina. Email correspondence is preferred and will be checked daily.

New gravel has been laid out in the parking lots. We are considering the installation of clam shells over the gravel. Gas grills are available for use on the deck next to the Ship's Store. The Ship Store currently provides boaters with ice 24 hours per day.
The flag pole has been refurbished and we fly the American Flag and marina flag daily. Flying the colors is very important to us.

We do not provide any transient docking. Our focus is on our full-time customers. We are committed to having a first-class facility coupled with solid customer service and on-site expertise to help you.

The mission statement of Ring's Island Marina is simply this: To provide the absolute best boating experience for our customers.
